Rebuilding the popular New Venture NV4500 5 speed manual transmission is a straight forward job if you have quality parts, a few special tools, and accurate technical information. Our highly detailed, color rebuild manuals and videos take the mystery out of NV4500 transmission service by covering each step of a typical rebuild in an easy to follow, step-by-step progression from start to finish. Exploded views with parts descriptions are included with the TM1003 Manual, or available as a stand-alone publication in our TM1004.

General Motors used the New Venture NV4500 transmission from late 1991 to 2007 in both 4x2 and 4x4 full size applications. Many GM built delivery vans and base chassis models also used the NV4500 with either gas or diesel power.

The NV4500 5 speed was the base transmission on most Dodge gas V8 full size models from 1992 to 2005. Diesel and V10 Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks used the NV4500HD as the stock transmission from 1994 to 2004.
